A bit about me
I am a great believer in "everything happens for a reason". Often those reasons can not be seen or even guessed in the moment.
I have always been interested in the workings of the universe in general and have always tried to listen to that inner voice. I felt that inner voice was telling me I needed to just knuckle down in work and wait. So I did and after a normal life growing up and starting a family in Gloucester a career opportunity arose that enabled myself and my family move to Aberporth, West Wales in 2001.
Whether you choose to listen to that inner voice or go against it the universe will always get it's way in the end. However, it is easier if you learn to listen to it even if it is going against what your head tells you.
In 2005, in circumstances that seemed utterly strange and random, (although with hind sight I believe it was just the universe had decided I was ready), I met a couple of women, Trish a Reiki Master Teacher and her friend Ann an Angelic Reiki Master Teacher, who were soon to become my Reiki Masters.
There is more to this story than I will bore you with here but basically I was able to recognise this "random" meeting for what it was and went with it.
After a little pestering from me, as Trish was not planning to do any teaching at that time, she agreed to teach me level 1 Reiki. I went away with a whole new outlook and after some time I decided to take my level 2 Reiki with Trish also.
I spent the next 10 years using my Reiki understanding on a daily basis. It can be used in so many ways it is astonishing. I used it on myself and my environment and when others asked I treated them too. I was having the usual highs and lows of normal life and now working very long night shifts to make ends meet as most of us do. Although I didn't always realise it at the time, I was building on my Reiki experience. I expanded my knowledge and learned to use a pendulum in my healing and for other things. I gained a level 3 diploma in reflexology and level 1 and 2 in Angelic Reiki with Ann.
Out of the blue a massive turn around in my working life suddenly presented me with the time to take my Reiki Master course. After some assessment it was agreed that I was ready to become a Reiki Master Teacher also. In 2016 I completed my Reiki Master and Master Teacher courses. To become a Reiki Master or even a Master Teacher is not something that should ever be taken lightly. I put much thought into both and I was happy that I had waited the 10 plus years between taking my level 2 and master levels. It gave me time to learn as much as I could and grow my personal experience. I do not suggest that everyone should wait that long between level 2 and Master/Teacher levels but it was the right choice for me. I was aware that becoming a Master was a large step and my working life during that time would have prevented me from putting into the transition all that it deserves.
Well I am now living in Morriston, Swansea and I am in the position to finally spread my wings much wider. Reiki has always been a great pleasure to me and now I have time to treat and teach others.
Maybe I should say that I do not follow any religion. You can be of any faith or none and you can still learn Reiki or be treated with it. I give the benefit of my experiences and teaching when I am asked and it is up to the individual to take this knowledge and use it, ignore all of it or just take what resonates and drop the rest. We all have different paths to journey and each person should be allowed to find their path in their own way.
I do believe there is a natural universal power that we all exist within. It is all around and in us and nature. The universe is full of things yet to be discovered and things that may never be explained and I can live with that. It makes life more exciting!
If you have read this far I hope I have not bored you too much and that I may have even given you a little spark of an idea or food for thought. We all have our own journeys but I will not presume to know where mine may lead me although I am enjoying the ride!
