Very briefly, Reiki is a method of using natural universal energy to heal and calm the physical body, mind and soul. Reiki will clear blockages of energy flowing through the body enabling the body to heal itself efficiently.
It combines techniques from other energy disciplines used and developed over thousands of years from all over the world. A man named Dr Asui, born in Japan at the end of the 19th century, spent his life time studying and learning and testing as many different forms of energy healing as he could from many different religions, faiths and tribes from all over the world. He eventually combined them into a form of energy healing that he could use and teach to others. This form he called Reiki, which translates from the Japanese "Rei" (Divine) and "KI" (energy). Now in the 21st century, Reiki is still performed and taught using these same techniques, by each Reiki Master Teacher handed down from Master to student.
Absolutely yes! Reiki is a fantastic treatment for both mother and baby. Helping to create relaxation and calm for both while giving no side affects apart from a sense of deep well being.
Absolutely any age at all. However for the treatment of under 16 years of age, a parent or guardian will have to give their signed permission or be present while the minor is being treated.
Everything!
The treatments main aim is to heal and boost the natural flow of energy through the body so that the mind, body and sprit can function at maximum capacity and in so enabling it to fight and heal diseases and injuries that may have afflicted it.
Any life form is an amazing thing and is very capable of healing itself but only when it is working at it's best. A healthy lifestyle will also work wonders towards achieving this.
In the case of an injury it can promote the healing even speeding it up. (In the case of injury please come to me after you have been to the hostpital. Reiki like other practices has it's place but A&E should be your first call in an emergency).
Although you don't have to be ill to have a Reiki treatment. It is a wonderful treatment to have whether you are ill or just looking for a very pleasent boost to you day. It may however mean you require more treatment sessions for a more severe health problem.
Just something warm, loose and comfortable. Often people feel cold immediately following a treatment, even on a hot sunny day, so I would recommend having an extra jumper or fleece available just in case.
Yes! Anyone can be taught to use Reiki and become proficient at using it to enhance their own life and treat others. Feel free to look at my courses.
A typical Reiki course will be held over two full days. Usually a weekend.
ie; 9am - 5pm on each day with a break for lunch, morning and afternoon short tea breaks.
Reflexology is the use of pressure and manipulation of energy and nerve points on the body to stimulate blood and energy flows whilst releasing blockages in them.
A Reflexology treatment is usually carried out on the lower legs and feet as these are the largest areas and easier to massage and manipulate. However, a reflexology treatment can also be carried out on the hands or even the ears, (yes I said ears), although the feet are definitely the best option.
Reflexology is also a very relaxing experience even if all you want to do is let go of a hard or stressful day.
Yes you can. Slightly different techniques would be used on a pregnant woman compared to a non pregnant woman. This would also apply if the woman was on her menstrual cycle at the time of treatment. Reflexology is not a dangerous treatment in any way but can promote the flow of blood through the body immediately after treatment thus possibly enhancing a heavy period. For this reason the therapist should ask a female if it is their time of the month and will avoid certain pressure points and techniques during this time on the patient.

When done correctly it will not tickle or hurt. Some discomfort may be felt by the patient if a particularly tender point of the body is being treated but the practitioner should be aware and watching for any discomfort that may be being caused and be prepared to stop or alter the treatment immediately should the patients discomfort change from discomfort to pain. When done correctly Reflexology is a lovely relaxing treatment and rarely uncomfortable in any way.
Absolutely!
Reiki can be used used on any life form including plants. Energy flows through all things and as such they can all be treated with energy healing techniques.
Although I should add that for my own safety I would require some precautions in place when treating the more dangerous patients.
Payments will be taken in person with using cash, card payment or bank transfer.
